VENICE PRIDE celebrates the unity of West LA’s LGBTQ+ community, its friends and supporters. Through annual events and ongoing outreach, VENICE PRIDE inspires, commemorates and supports diversity with the unique and eclectic spirit that embodies Venice Beach, California.
Venice Pride is the annual weekend long series of events that is produced by Venice Pride. Venice Pride is a wholly volunteer-managed, non-partisan, tax-exempt, not-for-profit corporation that organizes Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered and Queer Pride events in Venice Beach to commemorate and celebrate the Stonewall riots.

June 2. Venice Pride Sign Lighting & Block Party 2017

Join us for the 2nd Annual Venice Pride Sign Lighting & Block Party on Friday, June 2, 2017! This inclusive celebration of the LGBTQ+ community is FREE and open to the public–so come one, come all. Time: 5-11 p.m.
Back by popular demand, DJ Victor Rodriguez (“Bears In Space”) will get you dancin’ to the beats in the street. Need a dance break? Take a stroll towards Windward Circle and explore the many local community Pride Partner exhibitors. Hungry or thirsty? We thought you might be. If that’s the case wander down Park Row where you will find a couple of your favorite food trucks waiting.
Whether you come to dance, to eat, or simply to celebrate who you are, remember not to miss the magical sign lighting ceremony starting at 8:30 p.m. and the surprises to follow.

Then after the sign goes rainbow, join us at The Del Monte Speakeasy for “Queer As Funk” a live music happening courtesy of LA-based power funk/soul band The Puscie Jones Revue who is generously donating their performance to Venice Pride as a way to support our mission!

Join us for Gaywatch an Official Venice Pride After Party at The Birdcage following the sign lighting. Featuring DJ Victor Rodriguez (Bears In Space) on the turntables and hunky beach boys and butches in swim trunks on the dance floor.
No matter gay, straight, or bi, lesbian, transgender life — this is the Venice Pride party for dancers. Space is limited. Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly advised.

June 3. Venice Pride Beach, Please! Big Beach Cleanup

Hey gurl, hey! Pride weekend just got a whole lot trashier. Join Heal the Bay and Venice Pride for one BIG beach cleanup. Fabulous prizes will be awarded for the most trash collected, best drag queen, and more. Gay, lesbian, bi, transgender, straight – all are welcome.

On Saturday morning meet at Brooks Lifeguard Tower located north of the Skate Park at the end of Brooks Avenue at 8:30 a.m. All participants must register and sign a mandatory waiver.
Venice Pride’s BIG Beach Cleanup will be easy, fun and kick off your weekend with some excellent karma. Great way to give back to the community. Get your family, friends or colleagues involved. All you need to do is show up...and bring a bucket if possible!
Beach, Please! Big Beach Cleanup Tips:
-Bring cash if you plan to park in the lot (there is no discounted parking), come early to find street metered parking, or rideshare.
-Volunteers 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers under 18 must have a waiver signed by parent or guardian.
-Service hour forms will be signed by the beach captain at the end of the cleanup. We can not verify service hours after the event concludes.
-Please be prepared to be outside for 2-3 hours. Beach weather can be unpredictably hot or cold, so we recommend dressing in layers. We also encourage you to bring a filled reusable water bottle to stay hydrated, and to bring a snack in case you get hungry. Water is available at all cleanups.

The Status Is Sexy Pride Extravaganza, presented by APAIT and Venice Pride is a FREE community event showcasing local artists, activists, and celebrities from the LGBTQIA+ community; from singing and spoken word, to dancing and drag! APAIT will also be providing FREE rapid HIV testing during the show. Come on out for a day of celebration and pride at the Muscle Beach Stage from 1 – 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 3rd!
