Greetings readers!   Today we are going to meet the folks that quench the thirst of those who drink in the V.  The bartenders and beer-tenders of Venice.
.
Here is “put a story to the face” article that features 3 of Venice’s finest.
.
“We can change ourselves, but not others,” says Jean Luc, 16 year veteran bartender at  On the Waterfront Cafe.
.
onthewaterfrontcafe-225-x3Jean Luc has been pouring flutes of imported German  hefe-weizen and pilsner for locals and tourists  at this beloved beach front beer garden since 2000. Born in Switzerland, Jean Luc met OTWFC owner Stefan Bachoner in St. Moritz, Switzerland, where they worked together as ski instructors. Jean Luc moved to West L.A., and has worked at On The Waterfront since the day he arrived.
.
When he is not hydrating the locals, Jean Luc likes to explore the various neighborhood in Venice and check out the different styles of architecture. He cites the canals and the beach as his favorite areas to go for a walk. A fan of movies and classic rock, Jean Luc says the Dire Straits are his band and The Blues Brothers his movie.
,
Shrimp, mussels and steak with a good German beer is Jean Luc’s favorite meal.  So, OTWFC is a great fit for Jean Luc, as they all that and more on their fantastic European inspired menu. Jean Luc likes to play the lottery, despite never having won.  Now, get on down to OTWFC, grab a cold mug of brew and hello to Jean Luc.

.
Tony has been pouring locally made craft brew at Simmzy’s since it opened over a year ago.
,
When he is not working, Tony and his girlfriend make sketch comedy films.  An avid photographer, Tony likes traveling and has backpacked  most countries in Europe, as well as parts of South America and Australia. Surfing is his favorite workout, and  ocean health and environmentalism are causes that are dear to him.
.
A fan of early 20th century Austrian painter Egon Schiele, Tony  likes to read history and non-fiction.  Musically, Tony likes Pearl Jam,  Radio Head and Motown. In regards to movies, Shaw Shank Redemption gets the favorite film nod. Philadelphia style pizza and tequila are among the menu items for a perfect meal.
.
The skatepark and the canals are two of Tony’s favorite places in Venice.  Now that you know him a bit, get on down to Simmzy’s and say hello to this guy!

Words to live by from long time Hama Sushi bartender, Blair Aued, or Blair in the Air, as she is also known.
.
This acrobatic wonder woman has an arsenal of gravity defying stunts she can pull off, including  a hand to hand on the flying trapeze.  Blair likes Louis Armstrong and would like to see free health care and higher education for all.  When she is not keeping the locals at Hama hydrated, she likes acrobatics, surfing, trail running and weight lifting. She says the red snapper or crispy rice are her jam at Hama, where she has worked for 8 years. Blair has a cross eyed, 4 year old Yorkie named Ricky Bobby that she is the care taker of.  The bike path, skate park and sand box are Blair’s favorite Venice spots.  And, Blair says if she could make any policy change, she would legalize everything.  Woohoo!  Go Blair.
