Venice Neighborhood Council to host their 1st Virtual VNC Board meeting on May 21st

Here is a message from Venice Neighborhood Council.

Dear Venice and Marina Community,
In these extraordinary times, after the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment (DONE) approved and finalized Virtual guidelines to resume Neighborhood Council Board (VNC) meetings and VNC Committee Meetings, the Venice Neighborhood Council is excited to be back for our First Virtual VNC Board meeting on Thursday, May 21st at 7pm, via Zoom.  Details below!
,
Although our Board and Committee meetings have been put on hold, we at the VNC have been busy liaising with the City, County and State to keep our community informed and connected. We hope that even under these challenging and unprecedented circumstances all families and residents in our Venice/Marina neighborhood remain safe and protected. As Los Angeles recovers and rebuilds, we are here to support you. If you know of someone in need, please let us know so we can help and also get the word out.

So far, during the City’s and State’s Stay at Home Order, the VNC used our council’s budget funds, under the discretion of president Ira Koslow and the Executive Board, to support emergency relief efforts for local organizations during the crisis. We donated food, supplies and volunteered our time to:
1)  Community Foundation, which provided grab ‘n go meals for LAUSD students and their families, as well as Seniors at 2 locations in Venice —Daniel Webster Middle school and Marina Middle School.
2)  Meals on Wheels.
3)  Home at Last—a social and shelter agency for transitional youth in Los Angeles.
4)  The LAPD Foundation—providing supplies and food for our officers.
5)  Frontline Food—providing food for our Frontline responders.

Stay tuned for more information about our May 19th Board Meeting and on individual Committees resuming their meetings and business.

We will continue to serve our community. Please stay well and take good care of yourselves and your loved ones. Together we can move through this challenge.

THANK YOU!
