As a versatile songwriter, Skye’s music always tells a story. Some of these stories are fun, some poignant, some thought provoking. Skye’s most recent album contains harder rock songs such as “Detention,” “Girlfriend Muzzle,” “Untamed Circus,” and “Raquel,” and tell the tale of turbulent youth, the underdog who finds strength and resurrection because of being the underdog (as is the case with song “Detention” as well as other tracks). Essentially, the theme of freedom, liberation, and strength is present in many of the songs on new the upcoming album “Untamed Circus.” This album very truthfully and sincerely portrays this perspective. Skye Delamey’s rock performances also visually portray the songs in a very entertaining fashion.

How many years have you been a musician, and how did you get into it?

I’ve been playing piano since I could crawl. I have been a musician for just about most all my life. It is who I am, what I do, why I’m here.

What would you say has had the largest impact upon your particular style?

Being truthful to the integrity of the particular song. What does the song want? what story does it need to tell? As songwriters we area vessel…it’s a message that come thru, and the style will depend on that.

Best memory/show

Every show contains timeless memories. Each is special to me … a bolt of electricity!  If I can open my heart and soul and share the songs I write, that is a “best memory” to me.

What moves or pivots have you made during Covid-19 and the lockdowns?

I did many online, live stream, and virtual concerts during the lock downs. I also decided to restore my baby grand piano for this purpose. It was important to me to keep doing, keep writing, singing, recording, expanding and sharing light especially during a time the world needed it the most.
