Explore the hidden-in-plain-sight treasure trove on the beach in Venice. Uncover and identify the bounty washed ashore by the sea.

Venice Oceanarium’s new series of outdoor explorations kicks off on Saturday, September 18th, 10am-12noon. The guided Beachcombing Field Trip explores the wondrous sea life beneath and surrounding the Historic Venice Fishing Pier. Meet at the entrance to the pier, in the parking lot at the end of Washington Blvd. (Map). The gathering will follow all COVID-19 Health Guidelines.

The field trip is organized by nonprofit Venice Oceanarium – A Museum Without Walls, and is the newest event added to their educational programming. “We’re thrilled to be out on the beach!” Says Venice Oceanarium Founder, Tim Rudnick. “It’s a beautiful time of year for Angelenos to get out and experience our beautiful coastline.” Tim continues, “The sea leaves us so many gifts to enjoy, if we just slow down and take a closer look!”

  •  Unique ecosystems
  •  Fresh ocean air
  •  Dress in layers and bring plenty of water. 
  •  Walk, Bike, Skate or take public transportation. Street parking or public lot at the pier.
