This weekend! Pretty in Pink 5K Color Run/Walk at the Venice Pier

The Pretty in Pink 5K Color Run/Walk aim to bring girls from the city of LA together. A non-competitive run/walk with color thrown along the way. This run is aim for girls ages 8-17.

Event Details:

The Department of Recreation and Parks, Girls PLAY LA, Pretty in Pink Girls Empowerment Program and Venice Beach Recreation Center will be hosting a 5K Color Run/Walk on the Venice Fishing Pier on May 14, 2022. The event invites all of the young people participating in the Girls PLAY LA programs across the city to participate in this untimed fitness event. The goal of the event is to promote health and wellness, nutrition and community. At the conclusion of the run/walk, a Festival of Fun with music, dancing, photo booth and lunch!

Pretty in Pink is a girls program created with a goal of empowering young girls in the urban community. Pretty in Pink provides a safe space for them to be open and discuss daily life challenges among women who truly care for them. Follow them on IG: @prettyinpinkempowerment

SPONSORS AND DONATIONS NEEDED:

We are reaching out to the Venice Beach Community for assistance with an amazing health and wellness event for over 300 girls throughout the city of Los Angeles!

We are hoping your organization can sponsor breakfast items, water or provide a low cost lunch to the girls, staff and volunteers attending this event. This may be the first time any of the participants have visited the Venice Fishing Pier and/or have been to the beach.

Also, if you have girls who would like to attend, please have them register on laparks.org/discover-activities.
