Councilmember Bill Rosendahl to Swear in New VNC Board members on Nov. 27, 2012.
The Venice Neighborhood Council will hold its next board meeting on Tuesday, November 27, at which point it will swear in its 21 newly elected board members in a ceremony led by 11th District Councilmember Bill Rosendahl. The ceremony will also honor outgoing board members and celebrate the VNC’s strong voter turnout during the recent Oct 28 elections, which was the highest in the city. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM at Westminster Elementary School at 1010 Abbot Kinney Blvd.

10.30.12 VNC ELECTION RESULTS:
Thanks Matt Kline for the following. Venice, CA, October 30, 2012 — Venice Neighborhood Council Elections took place Sunday, October 28, from 10AM-4PM at Westminster Elementary School on Abbot Kinney Blvd. where 1,622 stakeholders turned out to vote for 53 candidates vying for all 21 Board positions. The number of voters is the highest of all Neighborhood Councils in Los Angeles so far this round (with one region remaining), and is a 32% increase from 2010 VNC elections. The strong turnout can be attributed to increased community awareness, a larger number of candidates, and a variety of neighborhood outreach initiatives, which included a newsletter. A group of community volunteers ensured quick registration and no lines to vote
