The yearly gathering dedicated to Burning Man art and community is back!
The Venice Afterburn will take place again near the ocean, on Windward Plaza in Venice Beach, California, on November 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Recognized as an official Burning Man Regional event, the Afterburn brings the magic of the playa to our ‘default’ world and aims to re-create the culture of Burning Man, celebrating the spirit of community, gifting, creative collaboration and broad inclusiveness in respect of the 10 principles of Burning Man.

As always, there will be several mutant vehicles with DJs, art installations that were created for Burning Man 2019 and performances that engage in interactivity and participation.

This year’s art will be the biggest and most spectacular yet: in specific, we are planning to install a giant, 75’ tall inflatable green elephant; the piece is called ‘Slonik’ and it was the largest art installation at Burning Man 2019, it was created to draw people’s attention to the problem of abuse and extinction of elephants in Africa and Asia and became one of the most recognized landmarks of this year’s Burning Man. It will be set up at the end of Windward Ave, just west of the boardwalk, and it is so big that it will be seen from all of the West side!

The event is open to all participants, burners or not; it blends the vibrant, eclectic community of Venice Beach with the creativity of the Burning Man citizens.

Participation is encouraged: we don’t just want spectators, but participants! Come with your best costume, bring something to gift, interact with the many art pieces and performances!
No vending is allowed.
