April 27 Venice Community Housing’s Chalk Art Festival

Venice Community Housing’s arts initiative, Arts Community Collective (ArtsC2) will be hosting our 2nd Chalk Art Festival on Saturday, April 27th.

ArtsC2 was formed to create public art that moves VCH into a broader role as cultural provider, improving public and common space, and continue in the efforts to reduce homelessness. Our hope is to bring change to the communal experience between people and place by incorporating arts into the social interactions of the everyday life of Venice residents of all income levels.

Join us on Saturday, April 27th from 10am-2pm at the Pacific Ave. parking lot, between North Venice & South Venice Ave. as we create a large-scale community chalk art piece. All attendees are welcome to participate and create chalk art on the ground. There will also be music, food trucks, and activities for kids. At 12:30 we’ll have a live performance from the all female drum ensemble Bloco Obini and samba dance performance lead by Vida Vierra from Rainbow Body Matrix.

The event is free, open to the public and family friendly!
