Venice Art Crawl Celebrates Summer With Art and the Community this Thurs. July 19th. View the official map!

Here is a message from the Venice Art Crawl.

The third Venice Art Crawl of the year will arrive in the middle of summer on July 19, 6-10PM on Washington Boulevard as well as popups all over Venice. Stroll along the two-mile stretch enjoying art and the warm evening, scented with night jasmine and the sea. Bird, bike, Lyft, or walk to the VAC events but don’t try to see everything, you just can’t. Enjoy being where you are. Download the map app by texting VENICE to 444999 and plan your experience.

The featured event and info booth of the evening will be stARTup Art Fair at the Kinney Hotel at 737 West Washington Blvd., Venice. stARTup is featuring Southern California artists including: Monica Seggos, Terri Lloyd, Emily Maddigan, Lily Phan, Rich Lanet, Frederika Roeder, Randi Matsushevitz, Clovis Blackwell, Annie Seaton and David Koeth. Ray Beldner,  Co-Founder/Director of the stARTup Art Fair, is turning rooms and the atrium at the Kinney into a popup gallery. For more information about the stARTup, visit: www.startupartfair.com

Artist and curator Cynthia Rojas, along with Pamela Johnson and Sofya Ryakhina, will have their art on display at a Venice favorite and family owned cafe, The Cow’s End located at 34 Washington Boulevard. The Cow’s End has been a local hangout since 1989. A few doors down is VB Surf, at 38 Washington Blvd, which will be hosting local Venetian artists. VB Surf is dedicated to being the local source for all that is surf, sand and sun. MedMen will have their fun photo booth set up along the boulevard.       

Ben and Jerry’s 1307 Ocean Front Walk on the Venice Boardwalk will feature Jules Muck live painting a cow sculpture, Venice Metal Works, 1003 Abbot Kinney will have a beach city kitties adoption event and art show, SPARC 685 Venice Blvd shows “When She Rises”, and a new venue, New Deli at 2524 Pacific Ave. will show local Manrique Torres. At the Rose Room there is a night of entertainment, drinks and art at $10 a Free Arts fundraiser called “Art and Music.”   Another Metal worker, Venice Metal Arts is opening their new workspace and gallery at 18 N. Venice Blvd. where they will be teaching classes in the future.  And there is much more so consult your map.

Art & Music – Summer Series at Rose Room.   Hosted by Muyingo Event Production

VB Surf will be showcasing Maggie Boelter’s art from 6-10 pm at 38 Washington. Refreshments will be provided. Maggie is a Venice local who grew up swimming at Tower 26 and roller skating with her dog. She attends University of Michigan and is studying environmental science. “My work explores the relationship a young girl has with the ocean–the human-made pollution and the detrimental effect of plastics are conveyed throughout the works and compel viewers to share her concerns for the sea life. I chose to show her lifespan and how she dedicated her life to saving what she loves most.”

Grand Opening of  VENICE METAL ARTS – NEW ARTIST WORKSPACE & GALLERY.   Local Venice artist Leila Levi, and Brad Smith, have announced the launch of a new artist space, Venice Metal Arts, to be unveiled at an open house during the Venice Art Crawl on July 19, 2018 from 6pm – 9pm at 18 N. Venice Boulevard.  

stARTup Art Fair and The Kinney Venice Beach have teamed up to bring you an evening exhibition of some of our exciting LA based artists. The Kinney is an enchanting hotel venue with sunny courtyards, vibrant murals, and vintage music piped into every corner. It’s the perfect backdrop to lay back, enjoy cocktails and small bites, meet exhibiting artists, and shop from select samples of their artwork

Liz Covington Paintings and Prints at Small World Books.

Live music by the Elegant Strangers at the Sidewalk Cafe, 7-10 p.m.
