The Venice Paparazzi Team is sad to learn of the passing of Howard Pollack, founder of Rainbow Acres.  We have been buying wheat grass and other things at Rainbow Acres for years, and have known Howard for almost 2 decades.  RIP!

Here is the Oct. 23, 2022 message from Rainbow Acres Natural Foods Market.

Dear Customers,
The Rainbow Acres and Pollack Families would like to honor our founder and president Howard Pollack. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and loyal friend. Howard will forever be remembered for his generosity to the community and everyone he came into contact with. Some of the programs he was recognized by include the Boys and Girls Club, LAX Chamber of Commerce, LAPD Pacific Division, local LAFD stations, other various organizations because there are too many to list, and the Rotary Club which he was a member for over 35 years and a past president. Rainbow Acres, which opened in 1981, will continue to be a family owned and operated store in his memory.  In addition, his dedication and love for Rainbow Acres and the natural foods industry will not go unnoticed because none of it would have been possible without his tenacity and dedication. He will always hold a special place in the hearts of many simply because of the man he was. We appreciate the love and support that we have received and it is an enormous comfort to us as we navigate this difficult time.

Here is the Oct. 30, 2022 message from Rotary District 5280.

Playa Venice Sunrise Rotary lost a very valued member of the club this past week, Mr. Howard Pollack from complications with pneumonia. Howard was the owner of Rainbow Acres Natural Foods in Mar Vista. Howard joined Rotary in September, 1993 (29 years ago) and was a Past President of Venice Marina Rotary as well as a Major Donor. The club nicknamed him “Mr. Generosity” in honor of his continual kindness and ongoing donations to many organizations and people including our Rotary District 5280. Howard’s impact will be remembered as he was someone who truly cared and he was committed to service and making the world a better place. We will keep you posted on a Celebration of Life date and details as we learn of them. The family has requested that all donations made in Howard’s memory be directed to the Playa Sunrise Rotary Foundation. There is an orange donate button on the club’s website homepage wwwplayavenice.org or you may mail a check to: P.O. Box 10883, Marina del Rey 90295. Please enjoy the photos of our Mr. Generosity who we loved ❤️ and will dearly miss!
