How many years in Venice?

Moved from NYC to Venice in 2005, so that makes it 14 years!

Tell us about HUZZAH! Toys:

We sell neat toys for kids newborn to 90!  L.A. Parents magazine said it best when they called us “The most vibrant, friendly, contemporary, well stocked, and least expensive toy store on the Westside.”

What is unique about your business?

We make picking the right toy for that special kid of any age fast and easy. Our carefully curated selection of toys is THE alternative to the mass-market, overly commercialized disposable crap sold everywhere. Our toys are smart, affordable, and guaranteed to provide hours of fun!

How long in business, and how did you get started? Where did the idea or inspiration come from?

HUZZAH! Venice launched in March 2013. We had stores in Hoboken New Jersey and the West Village of NYC for many years before moving to Venice.

How did you come up with the name of your business?

Many, many years ago instead of saying “hip hip hooray,” people would shout out HUZZAH, pronounced huh-zah!!! It’s just a fun word to say and a great word to express joy!

What would you say is the best thing about your organization?

The best thing about HUZZAH! is that it is rooted in JOY!   The saying we put on the front of our new location at 2122 Lincoln is “Don’t Grow Up: It’s A Trap!”

What accomplishments are you most proud of?

Being a part of the Venice community and seeing the neighborhood’s kids grow up in the store.

Future projects/Direction:

The new location has a courtyard where we will be doing all sorts of kid activities and family events. We’ll be looking to add additional locations throughout the Westside too.
