“Hail Summer; Hail Venice; Hell YEA!”

The Neptune Festival is  the “Venice Start of the Summer Weekend” event!  The event is free, and open to all ages.  Participation is a must.

Here is a Venice, Ca history lesson!  1938 –  It began with the arrival of King Neptune in an outrigger canoe followed by Queen Venetia’s coronation and a royal procession along Ocean Front Walk. The queen read a proclamation commanding her subjects to engage in three days of fun and frivolity. The afternoon parade featured floats and costumed merrymakers wearing enormous plaster of paris heads that were manufactured in Arthur Reese’s studio. Windward Avenue was roped off for a street carnival where wandering gondoliers entertained.  Photo and insert above from www.westland.net.

See you at Hinano Cafe on June 29th!

About HinanoWe’ve been serving world-famous burgers and cold beers just steps from the Venice Beach pier since 1962. Notorious for being Jim Morrison’s favorite Venice hangout.

Hinano is that rare local bar for people from all over the world. It’s also a cool place to duck into out of the sun…and then stay till the wee hours. We have a good selection of beer on tap served in frosty mugs and pitchers or in icy bottles.

Two pool tables, free popcorn, a great jukebox and full college and NFL cable sports package (and plenty of screens) make Hinano Cafe a good time just waiting to happen.  https://www.hinanocafevenice.com/
