On Tuesday, Aug. 5th.  Venice Paparazzi brought one of our world famous, super fun photo booths to the LAPD Pacific Division’s National Night Out at Mar Vista Rec. Center.  We did a green screen where participants got to choose their own background and gave complimentary 4×6 prints to all, as well as digital copies.

It was a fantastic community event where people got to meet and get information from first responders, service provides, elected officials, municipal agencies, and more.  As well, Oscar from Clutch Venice/The Penmar and Lisa from Cantalini’s Solerno Beach brought free food for all!  A giant fist bump to George Francisco, the event producer, for putting on this wonderful evening.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August.

A message from event producer George Francisco + LAPD Pacific Boosters.

This year, Pacific Division brought their National Night Out celebration to Mar Vista with the help of their Community Police Advisory Board (C-PAB). A host of generous sponsors coordinated through the Pacific Area Boosters Association contributed both financing and always-popular prizes for the annual raffle.

Unique within LAPD, the Pacific Division reflects our geographic and community diversity by relocating the NNO event to different neighborhoods within the divisional footprint each year.

This year, Mar Vista welcomed the event which took place at the Mar Vista Recreation Center, a busy hub of activities year-round. The free event featured nearly 40 safety agencies, businesses and community groups providing information, engagement and great food to everyone and all for free!

Both LA City Councilmembers who share Pacific Division attended, spending time with the participants and guests. District 11’s Traci Park and staff enjoyed one of her favorite events as she does each year. And District 5’s Katy Yaroslavsky and staff joined in the festivities all night long. She, along with Park, took time to address the crowd.

A special shout-out goes to the Pacific Division Police Cadets who managed multiple site activations and the Pacific Area Boosters Association who helped as the financial manager of the event.
