12 years of Abbot Kinney Festivals

Venice Paparazzi has been formally documenting the Abbot Kinney Festival since 2007.  Check out the super rad video below from 2007.  And in addition, we have photo galleries from 2007-2019 for you to view below.   Maybe you will see yourself!   We look forward to next year’s 2021 event!

About:  The Abbot Kinney Festival in Venice, California, spans world-famous Abbot Kinney Boulevard. The mile-long street’s eclectic boutiques and artisan eateries infuse the festival with local Venice flavor. Occurring each year on the last Sunday in September (except for this year), this highly anticipated summertime tradition is 36 years strong and features:

  • free festival admission
  • 350 quality vendors
  • top food trucks and booths
  • kids’ rides and games
  • 4 music stages, including KidsQuad stage
  • 3 beer gardens

Did you know that revenue generated from the festival through exhibitor booth sales and sponsorship fund the AKFA Community Grant Program?

Funded by festival proceeds, the AKFA Community Grants Program awards funding to selected Venice-based nonprofit organizations that offer services and programs aimed at youth and families.  Since 1984, well over $300,000 in festival proceeds have been invested into the community of Venice.

Calling all non profits that serve the community of Venice! Add this to you list of 2021 things to do!  Apply for the AKF community grant.  abbotkinneyfestival.org/mission

About the Spirit of Venice Award:

Since 1989, the Abbot Kinney Festival Association has recognized exemplary stakeholders nominated by the community for their contributions to the spirit, creativity and uniqueness of Venice. The first Spirit of Venice Award was presented at the 6th Annual Abbot Kinney Festival in 1989 to descendants of Abbot Kinney, the Founder of Venice, California. Also that year, West Washington Boulevard was renamed to Abbot Kinney Boulevard in his honor.

Venice Paparazzi’s co-founder Edizen received the Spirit of Venice Award in 2015
