Did you know that three years ago today, was the ground breaking of the new Venice Skate Park.
When: Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.
Where: On beach near the Public Art Walls (“Graffiti Walls”) and existing skate dance area near Windward Avenue and Ocean Front Walk. Venice Beach , CA 90291
On that day, Councilmember Bill Rosendahl joined local professional and amateur skaters to celebrate the beginning stages of construction for a long awaited skateboard park on Venice Beach. Other people spotted at this historical event included Johnnie Jenkins Mukri (general manager of the Department of Recreation and Parks), Gary Lee Moore (City Engineer), Geri Lewis – Venice Surf and Skateboard Association, Bobby Bliss of Venice Originals Skateboard Shop, Daniel Samakow of James’ Beach and theCanal Club), Andy Layman – Venice Beach Suites & Hotel, Lance Lemond –www.VeniceSkatePark.com, professional skaters Jessie Martinez, Christian Hosoi, Rodney Mullens, Bennet and more!
