Birthday boy Jeffrey Solomon

The décor. Fabulous. A retrospective of Jeffrey’s life done in life-size photos, objects, flowers and centerpieces. From his basketball years to his Vegas years, to his long and happy life on Venice Beach.

Entering the party room through a replica of our home refrigerator which is covered in photos that spans over 35 years (we have a really big refrigerator!).

The food – James Beach did a fantastic job. Sushi from the Canal Club, followed by soup, salad, Build Your Own Taco station with steak, Mahi-Mahi, grilled chicken, beans, plantains, rice and fabulous sides. Dessert was a wheat free chocolate birthday cake. So Jeffrey could keep on his wheat free diet. (He’s already lost over 40 pounds).

The reading of people’s favorite “Jeffrey story”. Since some people have known him for over 50 years, this was quite a challenge – there are hundreds of great “Jeffrey stories”.

Our family being together to celebrate Jeffrey’s big birthday. We all agree -He rocks.

Leonard Atlas created, fabricated and installed the entire décor. Truly remarkable as the photos will show. Todd Eichenberger assisted in the installation – what a guy!

Danny Samikow and James Evans of James Beach worked with us for months on this event. Their loving care, great food and amazing staff made it as spectacular as we had hoped.

Rebecca Wilson of Rebecca Wilson studio who photographed the entire event and provided portrait shots of guests as party favors before the end of the evening. Everyone loved it!

Melinda Alschuler is the local artist who assisted with the guest book and event commemorative scrapbook design. Alex and Nadine Rosales of Control Printing who put Jeffrey’s “big box surprise” together with loving care and friendship.

Carl Lambert, owner and operator of The Admiralty Suites on Navy Street for the wonderful accommodations for our out of town guests.
