JOIN US FOR FREE BBQ & PICNIC!

This is a FREE event, open to everyone! Bring your family – we’ll have special activities just for the kids! And don’t forget to bring your appetite!

The firefighters from Venice Station 63 barbeque the meat and chicken on their famous MOAB (Mother Of All BBQ’s). You can help too – because the best picnics include a little love from everyone! Bring something to share, be it a pie, cake, cookies, salad, biscuits, or whatever you just love to make, including meat, poultry and pork.

Event highlights.  Thank to BBQ organizer and Venice Neighborhood Council vice president Carolyn Rios for sending.

The Venice Neighborhood Council’s 5th Annual Venice BBQ & Picnic was wildly successful this year with plenty off BBQ and Pot Luck all day long.  The New Bethel Gospel Choir started us rocking with Pastor Davis. Alejandro displayed his superior guitar skills and everyone really  rocked to JT Ross harmonica blues followed by dancing to the Fu Dogs.  Ana Metcalf won first place for her bean salad ( two nights at the Venice Beach Suites ) and Chad Mann won  a week-end at the Erwin for his lemon bars.  Other winners included Emily Winters for her corn pudding.  Emily has won before for other goodies !

The BBQ Committee ( Carolyn Rios, Minday Meyer, Barklie Griggs, Daryl Barnett) received an Certificate of Recognition from Bill Rosendahl ” City of Los Angeles gave me a Certificate of Recognition saying: “For five years of service and commitment and a vision for healing our community. Your dedication draws the community together in a way that will have a lasting effect”
