The Venice Beach Games, the ultimate outdoor sports and fitness festival, returns July 29,  2023 to the Venice Beach Rec. Center, at 1800 Ocean Front Walk, Venice, CA 90291. 

Once again, Venice Paparazzi has partnered with L.A. City Rec. & Parks and 80+ sports,  fitness, recovery, and martial arts groups and brands, to bring the community a free day of  classes, competition, and camaraderie in the world’s greatest beachfront rec. center.  Growing exponentially from the inaugural event in 2021, the Venice Beach Games 2023 is on  track with the mission plan: to capitalize on the momentum of the Olympics coming to L.A in  2028, and give Venice and international, destination, two day sport, fitness, and martial arts  expo, known the world over.  

Venetians, Angelenos and beyond are set to come out and play, workout, and compete with  each other in a huge variety of all level activities.  

We are showcasing a wide spectrum  of athletics; less traditional sports like street gymnastics,  long board dancing, submission grappling, skateboarding, and parkour are all on roster in  addition to more traditional games such as soccer, basketball, paddle tennis and handball. 

In addition to sports activities, there are Two Fitness Stages and a Martial Arts Zone offering  free classes all day, all levels, all ages, all styles, no excuses! Come get your work out on. 

This year’s roster of instructors and competitors range from local legends to world renown  athletes, social media super influencers to dark horse rising stars, and everyone in between.

“The enthusiasm for participation in this year’s events is powerful and immediate. Participation  is almost at 100 organizations. This year’s event is going to crush and by 2028, the world  with come to Venice to compete. If you want to be the top dog in your respective sport, you will  need to add a gold medal at the Venice Beach Games to your hardware collection. Buckle up!”

The highly anticipated Venice Beach Games are set to captivate audiences this year. This thrilling event has garnered widespread support from athletes across the region, uniting them in their pursuit of physical fitness, well-being, and a strong sense of competition.

The Games offer an extensive array of activities, catering to diverse interests and ages. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in invigorating yoga sessions, contribute to community clean-up efforts, experience rejuvenating ice baths, compete in handball and paddle tennis matches, showcase their hula hooping skills, and showcase their skateboarding prowess, among countless other exciting endeavors.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE?

On July 29, 2023 come down Venice Recreation Center, 1800 Ocean Front Walk, and check in at the registration tents.  There will be one by Muscle Beach Gym and at Windward Plaza.   You will sign a waiver, and get a wristband.  The wristband is your pass to participate in the 50+ events going on at Venice Beach Games.  The map and itineraries will show you where and when in the park everything is happening.

Venice Beach Games 2023 is a collaboration between Venice Paparazzi and L.A. City Dept. of  Rec. & Parks.

  • Beach clean up contest with a chance to win a trip to Japan by Venice Community Cleanups, Venice Beach BID, and Spogomi.
  • Battle of the Bars ® Road to Dubai Qualifier at the Venice Beach Games! Presented by World Calisthenics Org.
  • Free Day Pass to train at the iconic Muscle Beach Gym
  • Calisthenics Reps competition by United Nation of Gains
  • Skate park competition: Pup cup, best trick in snake run, stairs, 3 block, longest grind in the bowl, and more by Skateparks Intl. and Girl is not a Four Letter Word.
  • Muscle Beach Fitness Stage with:  Free classes starting at 9:30 a.m. with  Sweat Yoga, CAMPLA,  Basecamp LA,  F45 Fitness, and Movement Co.
  • Epicenter Fitness Fitness Stage Free classes starting at 9:30 a.m. with: JFM Boxing, Box Union, Barry’s Bootcamp, Team 3XT, AKT West L.A., Capoeira Brasil,  and Samba Soul Co.
  • Grappling: Free classes starting at 9:30 a.m. with Jiu Jitsu Flo, Wrestling with Westside Mat Monsters, Jiu Jitsu with Rey Diogo,  Muay Thai with Santa Monica Strikers, and Sambo with Make Step Foundation.
  • KinFlow:  The New Aerodynamic Flow Sport the World has been waiting for!
  • Soccer clinics and organized games by Venice Beach Football Club. Kids welcome.
  • Handball tournament by Mike Koss
  • Bicycle clinic by Venice Electric Light Parade
  • Free Capoeira class with Capoeira Brasil
  • Free Muay Thai class with Santa Monica Striking
  • Free Yoga class  at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. with Sweat Yoga.
  • Paddle tennis clinics and tournament by Street Paddle and Pop Paddle.  Kids welcome
  • Pickleball clinics and open play by Venice Pickleball
  • Parkour beach side jam and competition by Los Angeles Parkour
  • Basketball clinics, games and dunk contest by Venice Ball
  • Longboard dancing, flat land skate, scooter,  blades, and more hosted by VibeRide LA and LA Skate Hunnies; competition, lessons, and open dance jam with beats by Sound Box and Alf Alpha.
  • Roller Skating open dance and lessons with Venice Beach Skate Dance Assoc.
  • Kids Zone with arts and crafts by Venice Beach Rec. Center
