Dudley Market is happening!  A few steps off the boardwalk, with the New York dolls blaring, Chef Wesley Barden is working his magic in the kitchen.  This Venice born master chef is a man on mission to create a culinary scene for the locals of the V!.  House made breads, famers market produce, organic meat, and sustainable seafood are the backbone of Dudley Market’s menu.  Simple, approachable, elegance, which is not easy to do, is what they do at Dudley!  The offerings are straight forward, and look effortless, but each dish is prepared with painstaking care. It is the ultra high quality ingredients that give their food the WOW factor.  It’s like you kind of know what to expect, but you are always surprised at how fantastic things taste.

“L.A. should be the culinary capital of the U.S.A.”, says Wesley.  “We have the best ingredients, the talent, and the market for it.” “The vision for Dudley Market is to be the epicenter of this movement, a place for the locals with world class food.”  Taking his wealth of fine dining experience and classic french training, Wesley is definitely putting a french twist on this American Bistro. With dinner options like Duck cassoulet for two, monk fish boulliabaise, or chicken au poivre, there is something for all everyone. The salads are incredibly fresh and inventive and most everything served is made in house. Wesley says if you come in for morning you must try the Seany Cakes or the Salmon Benedict latkes. My favorite lunches at Dudley are the pickled mackerel toast and Chesapeake crab sando. They are both ridiculous!  And, for  vegan folks they have a “whisper of the woods” daily special of famers market vegetables that is customized per meal.

On the drink side, they have draft craft beer, a good wine selection and a skilled  barista.  As well, they a have retail section that includes things such as cucumber water, craft soda, kombucha, bagels, muffins, and chips, to name a few.
.
Dudley Market hosts a service industry night on Sundays from 5-10 that includes 2 for 1 drafts.  And, they have brunch on the weekends from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., with $20 bottomless mimosas being one of the hot sellers.

Despite having some of the best food anywhere, the vibe is is super chill.  The decor is minimalist and rustic. Wooden tables and chairs, a concrete floor, a long share table, and seats at the marble bar that look into the kitchen all work perfectly together in a feng shui, airy sort of way.

If you have not been to Dudley Market, then get on down and say hi to Wesley and your new favorite neighborhood hotspot!
