The Muscle Beach International Classic this Memorial Day weekend is cancelled!

For decades competitors have traveled from all over the world to compete at the historic Muscle Beach Competitions. Unfortunately, due to Covid19, both Memorial Day and 4th of July events are cancelled.

These events are highlighted by a warm friendly local atmosphere while providing quality competition.

Event includes: Body building, Figure, Bikini, Men & Women’s Physique, Classic Physique, Couples (mixed pairs) Vintage Swimsuit, & Wheelchair division. A health fitness expo, free give aways, Muscle Beach Hall of Fame awards, fitness celebrities, and more, are also among the attractions at these events.

We will miss the energy that this event brings to Venice!

It should come as no surprise the events planned for 2020 Memorial Day weekend are being “officially” postponed/cancelled.

ISCA World Strict Curl is postponed till Sat. Sept. 5, 2020. and the Muscle Beach Int’l Classic has been cancelled.

Also, due to “social distancing” restrictions on large gatherings, City of L.A./Recreation & Parks cannot issue permit for “Mr. & Ms. Muscle Beach” on Saturday July 4, 2020.

We’re four months out from Labor Day. If (God willing) restrictions are lifted, there’s still a possibility for the “Muscle Beach Championship” Monday Sept.7, 2020.

My feelings about this virus and having to cancel the shows have been all over the place. I’ve learned in my lifetime not to stress about the things you can’t control, so that’s helped a lot.

Really gonna miss seeing the Flyover, athletes, sponsors, Judges, staff, Trophy presenters and all the spectators this coming Monday.

After 21 consecutive years, (63 contests in a row) guess I’ll finally enjoy some BBQ at home on a holiday. Hope you all do the same.

We pray you all will remain safe, healthy, and continue to practice “social distancing.”
